“Jai Jai Raghuveer Samartha”
Samartha Ramdas Swami was a great saint and devotee of Lord Rama. He was the Guru of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Swami was a gifted composer. He produced considerable literature in verse form in Marathi Language. Among his works, three compositions particularly stand out: Dasabodh, and Manache Shlok.
Samarth Ramdas Swami has written 205 shlokas under a label Manache Shlok which means conversation with mind. Shlok literally means 'song' But Samarth Ramdas swami is instructing his mind to behave in a certain way. Its as conversation between him and his mind.

It is a one of the supreme literature of Marathi culture and great example of Bhujanga-Prayat Akshar-Gana-Vrutta. All 205 shloks are written in Bhujanga-Prayat Akshar-Gana-Vrutta.
Swami called himself as Ramdas which literally means Ram = Prabhu Rama and Das = servant. He was great devotee of Prabhu Rama. His mind was always thirsty for Rama Darshan. With this dedication towards Lord Rama Swami wrote 34 Karunashtake. Karunashtake are poems depicting Karunya Rasa to forget yourself in true devotion of Lord Rama.
